# Installing the SDK

How to install the software development kit for Openfeed, Barchart's high-performance market data streaming service.

Streaming Openfeed connects your application to Level 1, Level 2 (Market Depth), and more from [Exchanges](https://www.barchart.com/solutions/data/market) around the globe.

### Choose Your Software Development Kit Install

Barchart Streaming Openfeed offers SDKs that cover most modern languages.

All of the Openfeed SDKs are open-source and are available on [Github](https://github.com/openfeed-org).

### Connecting to Openfeed

The Openfeed SDK's will establish a secure Websocket (wss) connection to the Openfeed Streaming edge servers.

Each SDK will also authenticate your application and provide interfaces to subscribe to market data streams.

If you don't have a set of credentials, please visit the [Requesting Openfeed Access](/getting-started/requesting-access.md) page.

The SDKs will connect to the demo endpoint by default. You can find these on our [Server Endpoints](/getting-started/server-endpoints.md) page

For more details about how to connect to the Streaming Openfeed API, use Barchart's language-specific SDK pages: [Python SDK](/repos-sdks/python-sdk.md), [Java SDK](/repos-sdks/java-sdk.md), [.NET SDK](/repos-sdks/.net-sdk.md), [GO (Golang) SDK](/repos-sdks/go-golang-sdk.md), [TypeScript/JavaScript SDK](/repos-sdks/typescript-javascript-sdk.md)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://developer.barchart.com/repos-sdks/installing-the-sdk.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
