# Events queries

Use these endpoints to discover available history and fetch equity-related events.

Request handler:

```
https://historical.aws.barchart.com/historical/queryevents.ashx
```

Supported event types:

* splits
* dividends
* earnings

### Parameters

Required:

* `username`
* `password`
* `symbols`

Optional:

* `start`
* `end`
* `splits=true`
* `dividends=true`
* `earnings=true`

Date format:

```
yyyymmdd
```

If none of `splits`, `dividends`, or `earnings` are set, all available event types are returned.

### Response format

```
SYMBOL,YYYY-MM-DD,EVENT_TYPE,VALUE
```

Example:

```
IBM,1999-04-21,Earnings,1.55
IBM,1999-05-27,Split,2-1
IBM,2001-05-08,Dividend,0.14
```

### Examples

All events for IBM and AAPL:

```
https://historical.aws.barchart.com/historical/queryevents.ashx?username=username&password=password&symbols=IBM,AAPL
```

All splits for IBM and AAPL between 1995 and 2005:

```
https://historical.aws.barchart.com/historical/queryevents.ashx?username=username&password=password&symbols=IBM,AAPL&splits=true&start=19950101&end=20051231
```

## Tips

* Use date range endpoints before large backfills
* Symbols not found in the system are ignored
* No row is returned for a symbol with no matching result
